Our Story

Titan Grove was launched to help build a group of for-profit businesses that promote sustainable, healthy, and just capitalism.

Titan Grove is the private capital vehicle of Jeffrey Tannenbaum, the founder of Fir Tree Partners. Fir Tree was founded in 1994 and helped pioneer the creation of global investment businesses that pursue both private equity and hedge fund investments. Fir Tree grew to be one of the largest global investment firms and consistently ranked in Institutional Investor’s Top 100.

During the past decade, Jeff has focused considerable time building businesses that have a positive influence on clean energy adoption and domestic job creation. Titan Grove was founded to accelerate the growth of market driven industries and businesses which benefit society.

The Grove of the Titans

Our name, Titan Grove, represents our long term orientation and the types of businesses we seek to build.

The Grove of Titans in northern California is home to the the great coastal redwoods. Within this grove, many of the worlds’ largest trees have thrived for over 1,000 years. The enormous size and long life of these trees is due to highly unique defense mechanisms they have developed against disease, insects, and fire. The Grove boasts the Lost Monarch and the Del Norte Titan, the largest coastal redwoods on earth, each towering over 300 feet.

Despite its amazing beauty, the Grove of Titans continues to elude travelers as most people do not stray from the traditional trails in search of something unique. We believe that the Grove of Titans is the perfect metaphor for our investment philosophy and core values.
